NDU-K INDUCTS KMA STAFF ON KOHA LIBRARY SYSTEM

National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) on February 26, to March 1st conducted an Integrated Library Management System training for library staff at Kenya Military Academy (KMA). KMA is a College of NDU-K.

The training was conducted by a team of instructors from NDU-K and University of Nairobi, led by NDU-K Deputy Librarian Mr. Dickens Rodrigues Wendo. It was aimed at equipping NDU-K librarians within its Colleges with requisite skills and knowledge on the use of KOHA system (an open-source integrated library system).

NDU-K MEETING WITH OFFICE OF AUDITOR GENERAL

National Defence University- Kenya (NDU-K) held an Entry Meeting of Regularity Audit with a delegation from the Office of Auditor General (OAG).

NDU-K is subject to Audit by the OAG in accordance with Article 226(3) and 229(4) of the constitution of Kenya and section 7 of the Public Audit Act, 2015 of the law of Kenya.

While making his remarks, NDU-K Vice-Chancellor Major General Said Farah said the University leadership is committed to the audit process, noting the institution is continuously ready to learn and improve in its various areas of responsibility.

He assured the delegation of the University’s support during the entire audit process saying it is imperative for the two institutions to work together with the ultimate aim of achieving the set objectives.

In his remarks, CPA Richard Nyachieo who led the delegation observed that, OAG is the only institution that, by law, has to audit and report on how government departments and agencies are utilising taxpayers’ funds, stating that financial accountability and effective use and management of government resources is important in a public institution such NDU-K in order to maintain public trust.

NDU-K HOSTS RIFT VALLEY SPORTS CLUB

The Delegation from Rift Valley Sports Club (RVSC) paid a visit to the National Defence Univeristy-Kenya (NDU-K) on February 19, 2024, where they were warmly received by NDU-K Vice-Chancellor (VC) Major General Said Farah.

Led by Board of Directors Chairperson Mr. Leonard Kirui, the delegation received an overview of NDU-K’s activities.

The visit provided a platform to deliberate on collaboration and partnership in areas that included environment conservation, community social responsibility projects and sports, among others.

During the meeting, the VC, assured the delegation of the University’s commitment to partner with the Club in several areas of mutual benefit.

On his part, the Chairperson lauded the University management for partnering with them stating that the existing partnership with the University and his organisations showed that good things happen when agencies come together for a noble cause.

During the meeting, the VC, was flanked by: The Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) Research, Innovation and Security Studies, Major General William Shume, DVC Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Anne Muigai, DVC Finance & Administration Major General (Rtd) Patrick Amogola, senior officers and Heads Of Departments.
